Hostel Havana and Hostel Egon have been in business since 1999 on a street named "Below the Holy Spirit" (Pod Svatým Duchem 135) on the banks of the "holy" Vltava River, at the edge of the historical part of Český Krumlov (UNESCO). This is a neighborhood full of local residents; there are a few good and cheap pubs close by the house, a supermarket, a popular bakery, a butcher's, an evening grocer's with just about everything, a post office, and a tobacco shop. A few minutes further, there's a newly opened synagogue, the Egon Schiele studio, the Seidl Photo Studio Museum, and a newly reconstructed town park. This part of town enjoys a very pleasant and home-like atmosphere. A lazy stroll will take you to the main town square in about 10 minutes.

We run three adjacent houses with a total of 12 rooms for your sleeping pleasure (doubles, triples, and bigger) with views to the river.

The entire hostel has 40 beds in total. The rooms all share bathrooms, each house has a fully-equipped kitchen, and each bed has its own locker. Wi-Fi and PC free of charge. We have a washer and dryer for you to use. The reception is open every day during the season, then by agreement out of season (or if we have a full house).

We have a garden with fire pit, a sunny terrace, and a grassy spot by the river for you to hang out, relax, smoke, or sit by the fire. You can rent a raft, canoe, or bicycle directly at the house, which includes pick-up, drop-off, and full equipment.

The bus station is about a 15-minute walk away, train station 30 minutes, or you can take the local bus or a taxi. The bus stop is in front of the house. There are 8 local shuttles leaving the hostel daily to Prague, Linz, Salzburg, Vienna, and Munich. The taxi prices are quite low, and we even guarantee the price.
